The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency
("DVLA") is the government body that
is responsible for the issue of British driving
licences and to whom notification of medical conditions
or changes that affect the eligibility of any
provisional or full licence holder should be made.
They are also charged with the licensing and registration
of all eligible road-going vehicles.
The Driving Standards Agency
("DSA") is the government body that
is responsible for conducting driving tests in the UK.
They are also responsible for administering the
Register of Approved Driving Instructors and other registers relating to
Driving Instructor training, Large Goods Vehicle
training and Fleet driver training. DSA ideology
is summed up in their vision of "Safe Driving
for Life" and they publish a comprehensive
list of very helpful Training materials to assist potential
candidates to prepare for both their theory and practical tests.
