Lessons >> Our lesson syllabus

When learning to drive many pupils, for a short time at least, appear to be making slow progress. This 'plateau phase' is quite normal, but because our subjects are scored every lesson this proves that genuine progress is nevertheless being made and your scores will show you how much of what you are taught you actually retain.

Our scores mark your progression against predefined headings and compares it to your best score to date. You can then use this to guide you during any additional practice between lessons and helps you to focus on those elements that need particular attention. It is not necessary for a pupil to be competent in earlier subjects before introducing more complex ones so, as you develop, your target will be to achieve a series of overall scores in order to firstly, apply for a test, and then to check that you are maintaining the progress expected of you.

It should be relatively easy to determine whether additional lessons are going to be needed or if you are making better headway than anticipated and might therefore be able to apply for an earlier test date. At the very least, your syllabus scores (downloadable from this website) will be of great help to any supervising driver who is prepared to offer additional private practice to help pupils already having lessons with us.
